About

SO WHO AM I ANYWAY?

My name is Jason and I am based in Southern Indiana. I consider myself a lot of things, but this part of my life resembles a full-service visual communication specialist (them’s fancy words for a graphic designer/website developer). I have mainly served clients in Indiana and Kentucky (or Kentuckiana for you locals) as well as customers throughout the U.S. I provide Branding and Identity, Graphic Design, Website Development, and a few Print jobs every now and then. Most of my skills and knowledge are self-taught, but I do hold a Bachelor’s from Indiana University and consider myself part of the life-long learning university. I believe in building strong relationships with customers and delivering quality results by providing personal attention to both you and your projects. After all, it’s your business.

BACKGROUND

In 1993, I went to work for Jamey Aebersold. Jamey is a world-renown jazz educator and music publisher and for 42 years has owned and operated Jamey Aebersold Jazz, Inc. The basics of his business involves music publishing and mail order. There are two main divisions of the business including retail and wholesale.

During my tenure, I’ve been a stock boy, customer service representative, accounts receivable, accounts payable, shipper (what I sometimes jokingly refer to as a professional boxer), truck unloader guy, garbage man, landscaper, and so much more. In 2001, a co-worker left the “Aeberdungeon” to teach English in Hong Kong. I volunteered for his position and was immediately consumed into the world of Graphic Design and Website Development. I had previously been interested in this field and was more or less, simply a hobbiest. I saw this as an opportunity to further my skills and do some “real” work.

Once I finished my degree in 2002, I continued at Jamey Aebersold Jazz as a Graphic Designer, Website Developer, Permissions Administrator and Summer Jazz Workshop Administrator … (whew!) all of these titles and positions I hold today.

I did, however, take a small hiatus from Aebersold Jazz from April 2005 through August 2007. I was hired by a direct mail marking firm as a Graphic Designer and Website Developer. During that time, I learned a ton about pre-press and the printing industry in general and was able to excel in my field. Additionally, I had the opportunity to work with other super-talented designers and programmers.

CURRENTLY

As I mentioned before, I currently work for Jamey Aebersold Jazz. I am also working as a freelance graphic designer and website developer.

My priorities are fixed on three things:
1 – Doing great work
2 – Treating my clients well
3 – Exceeding clients’ expectations

I am not setting out to be the biggest or most cutting edge designer in the world. Good business isn’t built on such things. Good business is about delivering solutions that are sensible and that drive profit to you and your business. I will give you my best, no matter your budget. I will never sell you technology you don’t need and I will do what I promise.

JUST A WEE BIT MORE …

This is a place for my stuff! I have spent a lot of time working on various projects, for both business and pleasure that has left me with virtually no time to do anything for myself. I do however use my website as a resource to display and discuss the various Graphic and Website projects that I have going on.

Please take a moment to browse around, join the discussions and leave some comments. I would be happy to help you get a website going for your business or your personal endeavor; just contact me here, here, here, or here and even here.
